What is EuroMillions?
European lottery Euromillions (Euromillions) –
relatively young game, launched only fifteen years ago - 7 february
2004 of the year. Its launch became possible thanks to the combined efforts of such significant
lotteries like the French Française des Jeux and the Spanish Loterías y Apuestas del
State, to which the British company Camelot Group joined.
Until the end of the Euromillion
each of the European countries had their own national lotteries.
The decision to launch a unified lottery was originally planned in connection with
the transition of the EU countries to a single currency, that is, there was another
a symbolic gesture of European integration. However, the process of creating a system
European lotto stretched for almost a decade and, in the end,
culminated in the emergence of Euromillions.
One week after
launch, 13 february 2004 of the year, the first draw was drawn in Paris. Later
half a year Austria joined the lottery, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg,
Portugal and Switzerland, after which the EuroMillions lotto really acquired
pan-European scale. Currently, besides the listed states,
Euromillions lottery is also available for residents of Andorra, Isle of Man,
Liechtenstein, Monaco and Spain. The only condition for a lottery participant is
reside in one of the countries where it is held and be older 18 years old (at
Great Britain - 16 years old).
Playing in golden euromillions, the participant gets a very real chance, if he's lucky, win a large sum, up to several million euros. The EuroMillions draw can suddenly make anyone in the country a millionaire, participating in the lottery
And with this Golden EuroMillion attracts the attention and sympathy of a huge number of Europeans.. Especially, worth considering, that most European countries do not pay taxes on winnings, and this means that the winners of the drawing of all prizes in full
The most important event in
the history of the lottery was a change in the format of the draws, what happened 10 May 2011
of the year. Since then, the second weekly draw of the game on Tuesdays has been introduced, and
additional numbers are not nine, like before, and eleven. Expanded
and prize combinations, the simplest of which is to guess only
two numbers. AT 2016 year a series of special draws was introduced
"European Factory of Millionaires".
